This Week at Cross Church | Reaching Forward

As we reach forward toward our future personally and as a church, let’s insure we are reaching forward in the way that will please the Lord the most. How do we do this?

Summer is Our Now Moment

As we are now in the summer, let’s remember this is our now moment personally and together. In this moment, let’s resolve we will walk with God this summer. Let’s resolve we will read the Bible and pray daily, be involved in our church weekly, and participate in ministry seasonally.

While schedules relax in the summer, do not let these things relax. We will need God with us powerfully and our church needs us wholeheartedly. Reach forward in this now moment.

SBC 2015-blog1Less Than Two Weeks Away

The Southern Baptist Convention is less than two weeks away. We have prayed and worked toward this diligently.

How You Can Be Involved

While some of our people will be attending to support and pray, others are attending for ministry impact. However, I realize thousands of our people are not personally involved.

Even if you are not personally attending the convention, will you pray? I want to share how you can pray daily and specifically for this significant gathering, as well as for Jeana and me. The following is an excerpt from our June Cross Church Circle prayer guide:

Fill, anoint, and supernaturally and miraculously empower our Pastor as he leads as President of the Southern Baptist Convention.

“Please let there be a double-portion of Your Spirit on me.” 2 Kings 2:9

  • Give Pastor Floyd Your message to proclaim in his Presidential Address on June 16, 9:30 a.m. EST/8:30 a.m. CST.
  • Grant him special time to prepare, in every way needed, for this significant moment.
  • Anoint him with a double-portion of Your Spirit when he preaches this Presidential Address, doing so miraculously and supernaturally.
  • Grant wisdom and power to Pastor Floyd as he prepares and presides as President over the 2015 Southern Baptist Convention, June 16-17.
  • Give Pastor Floyd the words to say, filling him with God’s wisdom and insight continually as he deals with media pre-SBC, during the SBC, and post-SBC.
  • Grant Pastor Floyd special insight and God’s power supernaturally as he will have to speak to the media relating to the forthcoming decision of the Supreme Court relating to same sex marriage.
  • Give Pastor Floyd your grace, power, and anointing as he speaks and prepares for matters prior to the SBC:
    • Safe and timely travel for Pastor and Jeana to Columbus and their return to NWA
    • June 10-13 Crossover Columbus appearances as he encourages participants, plus pre-SBC preparation
    • June 11, 11:00 a.m. EST Ohio 7:14 Solemn Assembly on the steps of the State Capitol Bldg.
    • June 11, 2:00 p.m. EST Ohio 7:14 Luncheon for Senior Pastors
    • June 13, 7:00 p.m. EST speaking to 1,000 college students & others
    • June 14, 9:15 a.m. EST Preaching at Genoa Baptist Church, Westerville, Ohio, in Metropolitan Columbus

    • June 16 6:45 p.m. EST/5:45 p.m. CST Speak and Lead The National Call for Prayer to All Southern Baptists for the Next Great Awakening and to Reach the World for Christ
  • Give Jeana special grace in this season and during these days, as the demands upon her are many.
  • Fill and anoint Jeana as she interviews Naghmeh Abedini in the Pastors’ Wives Gathering Monday morning, June 15.
  • Grant the Lord’s blessing and power upon Jeana as she is a part of the 2015 Ministers’ Wives Luncheon on Tuesday, June 16.
  • Bless Jeana greatly on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16-17, as she has many expectations upon her from early morning to late night.

This Week at Cross Church | Hello Church Family

Hello church family, we trust you had an exciting first week of summer.

As a church, we are entering into a season in which we reach many lives with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. So, now is the time to Say Yes! to helping your Church make that happen. Say Yes! to ensuring you honor God with all He has given you this summer. Commit now to faithfully give when you are in town and when you travel – our recurring giving program will make it easy to do both.

Say Yes-blogThrough our Say Yes! Summer Program of Giving we will:

  • provide exciting, Gospel-centered summer camp experiences for over 1,000 students
  • provide an educational, faith-affirming Vacation Bible Xtreme experience for over 1,500 young children across our region
  • send hundreds of our people around the country and the world on Mission Journeys; sharing the Gospel message, serving church planters, & reaching out to those in need
  • continue to serve the people and families of Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri through our Compassion Ministries
  • welcome thousands onto our Pinnacle Hills Campus for our eighth annual Fireworks at the Crosses event on Sunday, June 28.

Together, we can make a major difference in our ministry, in this region, around America, and across the world. Let’s make a difference for the Lord this summer. Say Yes!

WeBelieve-blogThis Sunday, don’t miss the next sermon in our current series “We Believe: What We Believe and Why We Believe It” at all five campuses. Throughout the summer, this series will clarify and boost our understanding of the wonderful, rich truths found in the Word of God.

Will you join us in inviting someone to join you at church this Sunday?

Forward-blog copyYou’ve heard about Pastor Floyd’s new book, Forward: 7 Distinguishing Marks for Future Leaders, and you’ll be pleased to know that you can pick up a copy this Sunday at our campus bookstores.
