Sending Help to Texas

Disaster Relief-twacc1

Our hearts are with our brothers and sisters in Texas affected by the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. In the coming days, we will be evaluating the best way to directly assist, and hope to send teams to help with disaster relief and clean-up. Our SBC Disaster Relief is the third largest disaster relief agency in the United States, and is already on the ground there assisting with caring for people. To give to the efforts, you can give at CrossChurch.com/give or by texting DISASTER to 866-924-2903 and following the instructions.

Vision 2020 Communicated

Vision 2020-twacc

Vision 2020 was shared this past Sunday in all Cross Church services. If you missed it, please take the time to listen to this vision. For over a year, we have been working on these goals and really want you to engage with us. Please watch or listen to the message, VISION 2020: 5 Goals to Reach by 2020.

We Need You to Pray for Our National Day of Prayer Team

NDP Logo-twacc

While the National Day of Prayer observances do not occur until May 3, 2018, thousands of people join our task force to prepare for and assist in mobilizing unified public prayer in America. Cross Church, we need your help now. We need you to pray for us and participate with us in this vision. This is not a one-day-a-year process, but an every day process. It requires months of preparation to enlist thousands of volunteers, then equip and empower them to lead these gatherings. I think you will enjoy this week’s Life and Leadership Today podcast, as I talk about my involvement in leading the National Day of Prayer. You can listen to it here.

Finish Well in Your Summer Giving

First Things-twacc

This is our final week to put First Things First in our Summer Program of Giving. Let’s make sure we have been faithful throughout the summer with giving at least the first tenth of all God has entrusted to us. If you have been away, take the opportunity to get caught up. This goal over the fifteen weeks of summer represents our financial need to continue to take the gospel to Northwest Arkansas, America, and the World. Let’s meet our goal and more for the glory of God.

New 4-Week Series Begins on September 10: Dreaming the Future

Dreaming The Future-twacc

Next week we begin a new four-week series at Cross Church called Dreaming the Future. Beginning next week, you are going to be introduced to what we are calling the GROWTH Track.

This is going to be a game changer for our church.

The GROWTH Track is the culmination of 18 months of study and planning by our Leadership Team and our senior Pastor. Let me just say this about the GROWTH Track and the Dreaming the Future series:

  • You need to do everything you can to be here all four weeks.
  • If you absolutely cannot be here for any of these weeks, then PLEASE watch the message you miss on our Vimeo site.
  • We are going to be asking every volunteer on every level of service to get all four weeks either LIVE or online.
  • Going forward, for EVERY new person who comes to Cross Church, we are going to seek to move them through the GROWTH Track.
  • So the GROWTH Track is going to be on-going. It’s not just a sermon series. It is a NEW WAY OF LIFE at Cross Church.
  • It is going to be THE way we disciple people to follow Christ.
  • So…the GROWTH Track literally changes everything. And we are SO excited about it. And it all starts NEXT week.

Summit Begins

Summit-blog

School is back in session and football has begun, which means The Summit luncheons are beginning again. We kick off on September 21 with our College Football Preview Panel. Our fall schedule is packed with wonderful leaders and I guarantee that no matter your vocation, you will find value in our guests and the leadership insights they will share. You can find the schedule, learn more, and purchase tickets here.

Thank you, Cross Church. I am grateful for you.

Cry Out America on Monday, September 11

Cry Out America 2017-blogCRY OUT AMERICA is a prayer initiative that began after terrorists attacked our nation on September 11, 2001. These planned attacks resulted in nearly 3,000 deaths, 400 of which were police officers and firefighters. Since that day, America and the world have never been the same.

Cry Out America reminds us of these attacks on our nation and of our desperate need for God each day. As America remembers this day, we need to see it become a day where millions of Americans join for a few moments in various locations to cry out to God for our nation.

We already know of a few thousand gatherings that will be taking place. If you are having a gathering with other Americans to talk to God about our nation on September 11, please contact us at http://www.cryoutamerica.us/find_event.

Cry Out America was initiated by the Awakening America Alliance in 2008, but in order to strengthen the call nationwide, it was recently entrusted to the National Day of Prayer Task Force. Therefore, even in this late hour, I want to call upon all of us to focus on these matters as we CRY OUT AMERICA.

Our Three Major Prayer Points for Cry Out America on Monday, September 11

I want to call out to each prayer gathering to join in agreement. These three major needs in our nation coincide with our continual needs since 9/11. Feel free to download and share this image on social media to spread the word.

3 Major Prayer Points

1. UNITY IN AMERICA THAT WILL LEAD TO A CHRIST AWAKENING IN AMERICA

2. SECURITY INSIDE OUR NATION AND FOR ALL AMERICANS ACROSS THE WORLD

3. PROTECTION FOR ALL FIRST RESPONDERS AND MILITARY PERSONNEL

Whether in your personal life or prayer gatherings you participate in on this day, please agree in prayer with thousands of others who are praying for our nation.

PARTICIPATE IN OR CREATE A PRAYER EXPERIENCE BY JOINING US IN CRY OUT AMERICA

Please find out if there is a scheduled CRY OUT AMERICA prayer experience in your region. Volunteer at the meeting or even create a prayer experience for your friends or family by going here: http://www.cryoutamerica.us/volunteer-nb-vers

These gatherings can happen anywhere at any time on September 11, and can be small or large. America usually remembers 9/11 in a major way. Joining prayer with this day and our three major points will be received even by the general public. They know our nation is in need, and will join us in praying for America.
