This Week at Cross Church | Staff Adjustments for the Future
The Staff Team at Cross Church is very important to us. Because of the value they bring to our Cross Church Family, periodically we make transitions and adjustments for the good of the entire Cross Church Family and Ministries. Today, I am announcing some of these, but before we do that, I must recognize an achievement by one of our team members.
Dr. Nick Floyd Celebrates 5 Years with Cross Church
This coming Sunday, our Fayetteville Campus will celebrate five years that Dr. Nick Floyd has given our ministry. After a short video presentation from me, Andy Wilson will represent me at Fayetteville, bringing recognition to Nick and Meredith for their five years of serving on our Ministry Team.
When our Fayetteville vision began to take shape, Nick came to me with great conviction, stating he believed God wanted him to lead this campus ministry. After some time and prayer, I agreed that indeed, God was calling him to lead our Fayetteville Campus. This past Sunday, that campus celebrated their third anniversary with over 2,300 people in their worship gatherings. Wow, what a miracle. Right at 800 people have come to Christ since this campus began. Nick, Meredith, Reese, Beckham, and Norah, we are so thankful you are with us here and praise God for your leadership. We love you.
Now for some staff transition talk. All of these transitions will be in effect by the end of January.
Andy Goode Focuses on Campus Pastor Role at College Avenue
While Andy has helped us lead our Compassion Center for this past year, we believe that the Compassion Center and College Avenue deserves having two different leaders. Therefore, by the end of the month, Andy will no longer lead our Compassion Center Ministry. His time will be dedicated to the Campus Pastor role of College Avenue, moving it to a new level to the glory of God. He will also focus some of his time to leading globally:
- Celebrate Recovery
- Disaster Relief
- Chaplaincy Ministry
- Evangelism Equipping
These ministries are Andy Goode’s sweet spot. We are thankful for all he has done and will do in our future together.
Eric Vaughan Becomes the Full-Time Executive Director of our Compassion Center of Northwest Arkansas
We are so excited about this change of calling and are convinced Eric will do a splendid job. He has been on our staff team at Pinnacle Hills for five years.
This proven pastor and leader will not only focus on the retail side of this ministry, but develop and grow our Compassion Ministries. There are many things in our hearts we are working through as a team. We believe with a full-time, focused minister at the Compassion Center, it will go to new heights beyond all of our imaginations! You will hear more about what God is putting in our hearts. On Sundays, Eric will serve and minister at our Pinnacle Hills Campus, but stands ready to assist all of our campuses as needed.
Mollie Duddleston Becomes Our Director of Small Groups at Pinnacle Hills
Mollie Duddleston has done an outstanding job leading our Women’s Ministry at Pinnacle Hills. Due to this and her gift of leadership, she will become the new Director of Small Groups at Pinnacle Hills. She will continue leading Women’s Ministry, but her role will expand with this gigantic challenge. Her outstanding background in the corporate world, as well as her incredible churchmanship through the years has all been used to prepare her for this new God-called assignment.
Chris Plunkett Will Become Minister to Millennials at Pinnacle Hills
Chris has been in charge of our Single Adult Ministry, but now he will also take on the massive assignment of both married and single adults from ages 18-35 years of age. Chris is gifted with great personal skills and we believe this is the right time to expand his ministry. He will have the same job at Pinnacle Hills that Matt Slaughter has just taken on at our Springdale Campus.
Closing Words…
In closing, we believe in each of these leaders! We love them. We believe they will soar in these newly assigned roles and will help our church and ministries to do the same. Encourage them! Pray for them! Congratulate them!
Yours for the Great Commission,
Ronnie W. Floyd
This Week at Cross Church | Cross Church is Here for You and Your Family
Cross Church is here for you and your family. This is why we have created a new, helpful, biblical series that will address one of the biggest issues in family, government, and culture.
CHAINED: Breaking Free Financially Continues
This new series will continue this week with a very exciting message, “Creating Financial Margin.” I cannot wait to share it with you. As we address this heart issue, we pray God will use it in your life greatly. Remember, we are doing this series for you and your family. Each of us needs every message and challenge. Bring people with you. Lots of people are interested in receiving help with their finances – whether they regularly attend church or not.
A Report from the Atlanta Prayer Gathering
Thank you for praying for our SBC Senior Pastors’ and Ministers’ Prayer Gathering for Revival and Awakening. We had a total of 374 Pastors/Ministers registered from 28 states, representing 180 churches and 19 national SBC entities, conventions, or ministries. For those who prayed for us and with us, thank you. God met with us powerfully. Here is my report from yesterday if you would like to read further.
Cross Church Maine Launches with 208 Present
Dr. Aaron Werner reported early Sunday afternoon that Cross Church Maine in Portland launched with 208 people present, even with icy conditions! This is absolutely miraculous. Leaders have told Aaron this is the second or possibly the largest SBC church launch in the history of New England! Wow! Just think what would have happened if these weather conditions had not existed on Sunday. Praise God for answered prayer.
1,000 Thank Yous for Praying…See you Sunday!
