This Week at Cross Church | The Future of Cross Church
As we have now experienced our Fall Kick-Off Sunday, we enter into our immediate future with direction and hope. I want to thank our Pastoral, Ministry, and Support Staff, as well as our irreplaceable volunteers, for all of our work together to see this fall be all God wants it to be. Let’s make each Sunday a priority in our lives.
Nick Floyd, Jeff Crawford, and Ben Mayes
In these days of transition with Andy Wilson stepping out of his role on our staff team to return to the corporate world, I have asked Dr. Nick Floyd to give oversight and direction to our entire Staff Team at Cross Church. As he provides direction and leadership to our Campus Pastors, they function as a team to help us lead this church in a way we pray will always be worthy of our Lord.
In addition to leading the Cross Church School of Ministry, I have asked Dr. Jeff Crawford to adjust in his ministry leadership with us by walking with Nick through helping our team, providing objective evaluation of our ministries, as well as helping lead through any challenging situations that may arise.
Alongside these men, Ben Mayes will continue to provide oversight to the financials of our church as well as lead Shiloh Christian School. We are going to call a highly gifted Business Administrator to walk with Ben to provide professional assistance with the finances of Cross Church.
With the growth and complexity of our ministry, we are always committed to function with the highest level of competency and integrity. Pray for Pastors Nick, Jeff, and Ben as they walk with me in providing leadership and oversight of this ministry. Months from now, we will evaluate this interim structure and make the needed changes or hires necessary to function in the highest capacity as a ministry.
We began our new 5-week series last Sunday entitled, SEX TODAY. If you missed the first message, it is critical for each person to hear. Take the time to watch or listen to it this week. This coming Sunday, our series continues. Invite others for this relevant and cutting-edge series.
Our incredible Communications Team worked with our Leadership Team in creating, writing, and producing 90 Seconds of Ministry, all for the purpose of helping you know more about what is happening at Cross Church. The last few seconds helped introduce the series to our people. If you didn’t see it on Sunday, please take 90 seconds to watch it now.
Now is the Time to Lead,
Ronnie W. Floyd
This Week at Cross Church | Fall Kick Off, New Series, New Church Year!
I want to speak with you about three important things for this Sunday. Please take a few moments to read these words from my heart.
The beginning of school means it is time for Cross Church to kick off the fall. Soon, many of us will be in stadiums engaged in the fun of football. It is the best time of the year!
Simultaneously, we need to engage even more and exhibit even greater enthusiasm for the Lord, His work and His Church! Beginning this weekend, engage in worship, a small group, and find a way to volunteer to serve somewhere in ministry this fall. There is a way!
Recapture the PRIORITY of Sunday in your life and church! Whatever the culture states, Sunday is still the Lord’s Day. Church is the #1 priority on the Lord’s Day.
By the way, if you have been away, I do hope and trust you will make up in your financial giving for the Sundays you have been away. Weekly, we are to honor the Lord with at least the first tenth of all God has given to us. Thank you for your faithfulness.
New Series This Sunday: SEX TODAY
For the next five weeks, we are going to see what God’s Word says about human sexuality. As we anchor this series in God’s Word, it will be so very relevant to your life and America. Whether you are a teenager or in the senior years of life, whether you are single or married, this out of control sexual revolution is affecting your life. Therefore, we want to equip you to walk through the challenges.
Do not miss one week of this 5-week series. Bring someone with you. Bring families with you. They will be encouraged by this series.
New Church Year
This Sunday begins a new church year. Pray for our team as we evaluate our church and ministries over the last 52 weeks. While we charge toward the future, we want to learn from our past.
What were our strengths over these past 52 weeks? What were our weaknesses over these past 52 weeks? We spent an afternoon session of our recent Staff Advance listening to our Campus leaders and respective teams declare our three biggest weaknesses on each campus and what we were going to do about them immediately. We are working to serve the Lord and His church in the highest manner.
Pray for us. We want to lead Cross Church to be all God desires for it to be for today and the future!
Now is the Time to Lead,
Ronnie W. Floyd
