This Week at Cross Church: Ways You Can Stay Engaged at Cross Church This Summer

Bible-readingCross Church family,

What a wonderful evening we witnessed last night. Our Pinnacle Hills campus was blessed to host an appointment service for 58 missionaries that are being sent around the globe through the International Mission Board. Let us continue to pray for these 58 men and women, and their families, who are leading the charge for Gospel advancement throughout our world.

The Summer Season is Upon Us

I understand that many of you will take a couple of weeks away this summer, and I support you in making it a priority to take time to reconnect with your family and reenergize. But, please impress upon your spouse and family that it is important to remain engaged at your Cross Church campus while you are both in-town and traveling this summer.

Here are some ways you can remain engaged this summer:

Connect

*CrossChurch.com is a phenomenal resource that was created for you, the church family. Through our website you have the opportunity to worship with us “live” on Sundays by going to CrossChurch.com/watchlive. Here you can pray and study God’s Word with us from anywhere in the world. Additionally, the website offers a bank of previous sermons that you can watch according to your schedule.

*Commit TODAY to be a part of our Summer Freedom Celebration on Sunday, June 30. That morning each of our campuses will have a major message and time of worship based on the theme of “Fear Not, America.” Additionally, on that same day we will welcome thousands to our annual “Fireworks at the Crosses,” a fun, exciting evening event for everyone at our Pinnacle Hills campus. The conclusion of the evening is an incredible fireworks display. Be sure to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to join you at this major event.

*Stay in contact with your campus and your small group. Try your hardest to avoid falling into an “out of sight, out of mind” mindset. Look to social media and the “This Week at Cross Church” emails to stay engaged.

*Pray for all of the Cross Church summer activities, including: Vacation Bible School, Kidz Kamp, Middle School Camp, and Student Camp. Also, pray for your ministry team and me as we prepare for our fall ministry kick-off.

Give

In the 15-week stretch between Memorial Day Sunday and Labor Day Sunday it will take $4,665,000 to operate the campuses and ministries of Cross Church. During the summer, we have very specific ministries in the community, camps for students and children, and much more — each funded through our Summer Program of Giving.

Below are some ways you can maintain your tithe and giving even while you are traveling:

*This summer is a great time to activate Automated Giving which is easy to set-up and maintain, or Give online from wherever you are around the world.

* This summer we will take 750 children and students to camp. Many of those students are in need of a financial scholarship. Our overall camp scholarship need is $100,000 above the tithe — the 10% of all God has given to us that we give through our Ministry Budget. At present we have collected $34,769 toward our $100,000 goal. Thank you to those who have already blessed this ministry to our children and students. You can give toward a camp scholarship online, at one of our new Giving Kiosks, or mark ‘Camp Scholarships’ on your offering envelope.

Remember that while you and much of the church family take time away, the ministry of the church continues forward.

Serve

*As an individual, family, or small group commit to serve at a summer ministry event. Perhaps you can volunteer at a weeklong Vacation Bible School, or at the one-day Summer Freedom Celebration. Click here for more information.

* Pray about taking part in a weekend or weeklong mission trip. Throughout the summer Cross Church is hosting many missionary journeys, both regionally and around the world. Each and every one of you, regardless of age, can assist churches and ministries in in reaching the lost for Jesus Christ.

*Remember that our Compassion Center in Springdale is in need of volunteers and thrift-store donations throughout the year.

Don’t Waste Your Summer

As your Pastor and friend, I ask that you “don’t waste your summer” in regard to studying and growing in God’s Word and serving His Kingdom. Please remember that the call to the Great Commission does not give any believer a “pass” for the summer time and that our church’s ministries are dependent on your financial and prayer support regardless of if you are in town or not.

Yours for the Great Commission,

Ronnie W. Floyd
