5 Important Things Right Now with the National Day of Prayer
Today, I want to make you aware of some things that are currently happening with the National Day of Prayer. I know many people only think of the National Day of Prayer on the day of observance, annually on the first Thursday of May. However, much prayer, strategy, enlistment, mobilization, equipping, and work takes place daily prior to that day.
1. The theme for the 2019 National Day of Prayer will be determined soon.
Our National Day of Prayer Task Force team is praying through, listening, discerning, and will soon determine the theme for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Personally, I feel a deep burden to hear what the Spirit wants to say to our nation, but also to the churches of America. Pray for us as we move forward on this path. We will reveal our theme for 2019 during our upcoming National Leadership Summit, October 29-30.
2. The National Leadership Summit for the National Day of Prayer will be held on October 29-30, and we want you to join us.
Final planning is ongoing for our upcoming National Leadership Summit of the National Day of Prayer. We want you to join us. This year, this National Leadership Summit will be held in Northwest Arkansas. The summit will be hosted at the Pinnacle Hills campus of Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas. You can find out more details here, and register here. The National Leadership Summit is for anyone interested in serving in your area with the National Day of Prayer.
3. Encouraging people to pray for the security and protection of the United States of America on September 11, 2018.
I am challenging everyone to mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 11, and pray together for the security and protection of the United States of America. This day is a memorable one due to the events on September 11, 2001, and an impactful opportunity to come together and pray for America. Whether it is alone, with a group of friends, or with your church, please call out to God in prayer for this need. With schools and universities beginning a new year nationwide, this will be an important day to pray for our schools. Join us wherever you are located and pray with us for the safety and security of our nation.
4. The Board of Directors meeting for the National Day of Prayer Task Force is August 21-23.
Twelve spiritual leaders will be in Northwest Arkansas on August 21-23, for the National Day of Prayer Task Force board meeting. These men and women of God who serve on the board are wonderful people with a great heart for our nation. Please pray for our meetings. Our desire is to seek the Lord together for direction for the National Day of Prayer.
5. The completion of our fiscal year is on September 30. Please consider a gift today.
The National Day of Prayer Task Force has a budget which needs to be met annually. Each year, our fiscal year concludes on September 30. Would you consider making a gift today to the needs of the National Day of Prayer? You can make a gift online or give by check to: National Day of Prayer, PO Box 64225 Colorado Springs, CO 80962. We want to finish this fiscal year in a positive way. Many think the budget is huge and there are plenty of supporters. Quite the contrary. Even though we have a small staff and our budget is not large, we still need assistance in supporting this ministry. For a national ministry, our number of donors is really quite small. Jeana and I give to it beyond what we give through our church. We pray you will consider this humble request and join us in giving to the National Day of Prayer.

The Security and Protection of the United States of America on September 11, 2018
On Tuesday, September 11, join me in mobilizing prayer for the SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America. Wherever you are on September 11, use this day to pray specifically for the SECURITY and PROTECTION of our nation. Why is this important?
The Day That Changed America
America has not been the same since September 11, 2001, when terrorists attacked our nation, resulting in nearly 3,000 deaths, 400 of which were first responders. A generation has been born since this horrible day in our history and we must never forget how that day changed America in our generation.
Since this day, it seems that enemies within our nation and enemies outside of our nation have continually threatened the SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America. Schools, churches, airports, businesses, government buildings, parks, concert arenas, and our public venues are now open prey to the attacks of our enemies upon innocent Americans.
But You Are A Shield Around Me
While security measures have taken place and are being tweaked continually to secure our nation, authorities can only do so much to protect us. We need the Lord to secure and protect us.
Even when King David was being attacked by his enemies, he cried out to God, “But You, Lord, are a shield around me.” Psalm 3:3
With all of his great armies and weaponry, King David knew that God could do more for him than his powerful forces could ever do on their own.
The people of the United States, especially the children in our schools, need God’s defense and covering. We are each vulnerable and we need God’s intervention now to secure and protect us.
CRY OUT AMERICA In Prayer On September 11
CRY OUT AMERICA is a prayer initiative that began after terrorists attacked our nation in 2001. We are asking you to join us on September 11, to pray personally or participate in a planned gathering to pray for the SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America. You can plan to meet with friends, pray outside of a school or public building, or at your church. Whether you spend 3 minutes or 30 minutes, please join us in spending a focused time of prayer on September 11 for the SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America.
On Sunday, September 9, churches can lead focused prayer during their worship services for the SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America.
SECURITY and PROTECTION of the United States of America
We need your help. Share the word. Share this graphic. Preserve this focus.
Pause now and write a note to remind yourself on September 11, to PRAY FOR THE SECURITY AND PROTECTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
