This Week at Cross Church | Let’s Talk Church Today
It is with great joy that this past Sunday morning, our Cross Church Family adopted our new budget that begins on October 1, 2015, and concludes on September 30, 2016. For the first time in our 145-year history as a church, our Ministry Budget goal for 2015-2016 will rise above $18 million to a budget goal of $18.1 million.
Join Jeana and me as we increase our giving to our Ministry Budget, just as we do each year. Our commitment to generosity has increased as our Ministry Budget need has increased. We believe in what we are doing at Cross Church and we back it up with increasing our giving annually. Please take a moment to read what I wrote this past Monday on generosity.
Thank You for Giving This Summer
What an incredible sixteen weeks we had from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Not only did we have a strong number of salvations followed by baptisms, but we also experienced an increased commitment to discipleship and living on mission with God. We had people all over America and the world, beginning right here, on mission with God.
This was possible because our people gave $5,569,841 of our need of $5,600,000. This is remarkable, as this amount included allocating $100,000 above our budget need for scholarships for all of our camps. Even with our budget increase and these camp scholarships, we only fell short by $30,159. This is remarkable and an amazing glory to God! Thank you, Cross Church Family!
To God’s glory alone, our church baptized 1,119 people this past church year, 3rd highest in our 145-year history. We believe in winning others to Christ, seeing them baptized, and then discipled to reach the nations for Christ. Join us in this grand task of reaching Northwest Arkansas, America, and the world for Jesus Christ.
Special Guests on September 27
It will be a thrilling Sunday on September 27 at Cross Church! Our Springdale and Pinnacle Hills campuses will hear one of America’s greatest theologians, Dr. Albert Mohler. He is the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. I would counsel everyone to listen to his daily podcast, The Briefing. He is a gifted communicator concerning all of the issues of today.
It will be the great privilege for our Fayetteville congregations at Wedington and College Avenue to hear Tim Lee, one of the great, gifted evangelists of our day. Tim Lee fought sacrificially as a Marine in the Vietnam War, and lost his legs. Since that point, God has raised him up to call people to Christ across America. He is a true American hero.
Bring your friends! God will use Tim Lee and Dr. Albert Mohler tremendously on this day! Mark this date and do not miss it!
SEX TODAY Series Concludes on Sunday
Sunday’s message is entitled, “God Can Never Forgive Me For What I Have Done.” We believe God can forgive everyone of anything. Do not miss Sunday.
